Hot air guns are the modern equivalent of a blowtorch, they are often also referred to as heat guns. They are used to heat up metal, plastic and other materials.
Hot air guns have many uses, from removing paint and varnish to soldering and sealing. They’re also useful for plumbers who need to solder metal pipes together. Hot air guns are also used by people who make jewellery or repair electronics, as well as automobile mechanics who need to remove gaskets from engines or other parts of the car.
Hot air guns come in different sizes and power levels. Some models have an adjustable temperature control so you can adjust how hot the air gets. They all work in basically the same way — there’s a heating element inside that heats up until it produces hot air that comes out through an outlet at one end of the gun. You point this at whatever you want heated up, press down on a trigger (or squeeze a trigger) and voila! Hot stuff appears in front of your eyes!
