Paintbrushes are the most basic tools in a DIYer’s toolbox. They’re used to apply paint, stains and other finishes. There are many different types of paintbrush, each with its own purpose. Brush bristles come from different sources, such as wool, nylon and synthetic fibers. They also vary in stiffness and size to accommodate different uses and techniques.
Paintbrushes come in two basic shapes: round or square head. Round brushes are used for “cutting in” around corners and edges. Square heads are used for large areas of paint coverage on walls or ceilings.
