Shavehook

A shavehook is a tool used by DIY enthusiasts for stripping off old paint. It can be used for other purposes as well, but this is its most common use. Shavehooks come in a variety of sizes and shapes, but they all have one thing in common: they are triangular and have a rounded point at one end.

Shavehooks are used by scraping off the old paint to reveal the bare surface underneath it. This can be done on walls, ceilings or any other surface that needs to be repainted. The sharp edges on the shavehook help remove the old paint without damaging the new surface underneath it.

They are also useful for raking out cracks in plaster using the point. This then creates a v shaped groove you fill with filler to give a more stable repair. This stops the crack reappearing.
