Pliers. Pliers are a versatile and multipurpose tool used by electricians and DIY enthusiasts alike. They can be used to cut wires, strip wires and crimp connectors.

The term pliers can be defined as, “Versatile electrician’s tool mainly used for cutting wires.” Pliers come in different sizes and shapes — from side cutting pliers to needle nose pliers.

Side cutting pliers. Side-cutting plier is a type of plier that has one flat head on each handle side. These have very sharp cutting edges on the jaws and are used for trimming wire or stripping insulation from wire ends. The handles usually have holes through which screwdrivers or other tools can be placed for leverage when tightening nuts or bolts.

Needle nose pliers. Needle nose plier has a long flattened tip with serrated jaws inside it which makes it ideal for gripping small objects like light bulbs or electrical components firmly without slipping off easily due to its pointed tip design. It can also be used as a pry bar due to its pointed tip design that allows you to get into tight spaces where other tools cannot reach easily such as under a car’s hood or underneath an appliance like washing machine etc…
